We have had several requests recently for pop-up furniture. Furniture that conceals a TV, Safe, Liquor cabinet, or telecommunications system. We have now found a reliable supplier to make the custom mechanical lifts that we feel comfortable using in our furnishings. They offer a 4 year warranty on their lift systems and will custom build each lift to our specifications.
Here at Lee's Workshop we have a background in engineering and machining as well as woodworking and feel that this is the perfect blend of experience to make us one of the leaders in the pop-up furniture market. We can design a table or cabinet with a remote controlled lifting mechanism to conceal whatever you desire. Our lift supplier can custom build a lift that will neatly hide inside of a cabinet or table. With the push of a button, in just a few seconds, a smooth, quiet transition takes place and you are ready to go to work or watch TV or whatever. When others say it can't be done, we will find a way.
The cost of the mechanical lift system to fit inside of a cabinet starts at about $1500 and go up from there depending on the size of appliance you would like to pop out of your furniture. There are some lower cost alternatives, Example, for smaller LCD or Plasma screen TV's, they can be built right into the back of a door or the underside of a tilt up lid, and raised manually with the assistance of a gas filled shock absorber type lift, and closed back down when the desire to hide the TV and have more table space. We have also taken the standard tube televisions out of RV's and replaced them with a custom door that holds a small LCD TV and by doing so regained some valuable storage space. See photo below.
